“2020 will forever be remembered for the pain and sadness caused by Covid. Lives were lost – livelihoods destroyed. Our sector was hit hard as well. It was also a pivotal year for the company. We launched a net zero ambition and set a new strategy to become an integrated energy company. We strengthened our finances – taking out costs and closing major divestments. I appreciate our team’s commitment and am grateful for the support we received from investors and the communities where we work. We expect much better days ahead for all of us in 2021.”
Bernard Looney

Bernard Looney, chief executive officer

“The Southern Gas Corridor is an absolute demonstration of what bp means when it talks about performing while transforming. This project is changing the dynamic of the world’s gas supply while we continue to show how we can plan and execute large, complex, challenging projects.”
Gordon Birrell

Gordon Birrell, EVP of production & operations

“I’m proud of what our team has delivered during an exceptionally tough year – including keeping our shops and forecourts open to help people when it mattered most. As well as providing the changing services and experiences customers wanted, we continued to build strong and innovative partnerships. And we’ll unlock further growth by continuing to put the customer at the heart of everything we do.”
