On 20 April 2010, 11 people lost their lives in the Deepwater Horizon accident in the Gulf of Mexico
"Today BP is taking time to remember Jason Anderson, Aaron Dale Burkeen, Donald Clark, Stephen Ray Curtis, Gordon Jones, Roy Wyatt Kemp, Karl D. Kleppinger, Jr., Keith Blair Manuel, Dewey Revette, Shane Roshto and Adam Weise.
These men lost their lives 10 years ago working on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico. We will never forget them – nor those injured in the accident, or the damage caused by the subsequent oil spill.
The lessons learned, and how we responded, have fundamentally reshaped BP. They have made us a safer company, with a culture of caring for each other, and a determination to make sure everyone goes home to their loved ones. Nothing is more important."
